Students who placed in the top four of their events automatically move on to the national conference in Baltimore, MD from June 26-July 3; students in the top ten of their events are alternates and may still move on to compete against the top students from around the nation!

This past weekend was the WIAA State Debate Championships at Gonzaga University in Spokane!  Here are the results for the MVHS Debate Team:

MVHS Debate Visits Jefferson Elementary

Jefferson Elementary teachers (Mr. Bishop and Mr. Norman, the hi-cap teachers) asked us to come because they are moving into the persuasive writing section of the year and they wanted their students to learn to make good arguments and responses. We taught them ethos/pathos/logos, basic Refutation skills, then moved on to some SPAR rounds.

Robotics Update

Our FIRST Tech Challenge season ended Dec. 16, and unfortunately we did not qualify for the State Championship as we did last year.  However, we have continued to grow and improve.  We now have as many girls on our team as we do boys.  Our Art and Design team has had the most growth with 14 members.
