Please congratulate the top 5 students in the bridge building contest this year! They are already preparing to move on to the regional competition in Bellingham in March. The top 2 students from there will win a trip to Chicago to compete at the international contest. The winners are:
1st place: Joey Hinderstein held 97 pounds with an efficiency of 2169.36.
2nd place: Sergey Gonchar held 117 pounds with an efficiency of 2059.46.
3rd place: Sean Esguerra held 72 pounds with an efficiency of 1805.97.
4th place: Monica Bergado held 93.75 pounds with an efficiency of 1788.34.
5th place: Daniel Carillo held 57 pounds with an efficiency of 1531.24.
The efficiency is the mass held divided by the mass of the bridge. Joey won even though Sergey's bridge held the most weight because his bridge was lighter.
Give these students a pat on the back if you see them.
